I primarily see myself as an
ethologist.
To me, this means that:
the description and classification of behaviour is a necessary preliminary to its analysis
the behaviour of an organism, be it animal or human, cannot be properly studied without knowledge of the environment to which its species has become adapted in evolution
analysis of the behaviour of an organism, be it animal or human, is not complete without answers to questions about the evolution and biological function of the behaviour (in addition to answers about the immediate causation of the behaviour)
Observation is my main research method
I like my observations to be:
* direct
* systematic
* structured
* comparative
* in real life situations
